The Art of Fabric Dyeing: Adults
Sunday, August 25, 1-4 pm

Maximum Registration: 12 students
Design and create a beautiful one-of-a-kind silk scarf! Participants will either begin by sketching a design for their scarf or, for those less comfortable with drawing, choosing color combinations for abstract staining. Next, participants will learn step-by-step instructions on how to blend and apply colors to the scarf and create tonal depth using specialty silk paint. This workshop is suitable for beginners. Registration for the class includes all supplies and gallery admission.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR
Sarah Carnes, M.Ed. is a local artist educator. She has taught PK-12th in the OKC metro area for over 30 years. She has presented numerous hands-on workshops across Oklahoma and nationally, including Balinese silk scarf, Zentangle, jewelry design, watercolor, ceramics, glassworks, printmaking, mixed media, and many more.
Her favorite creative experiences include photography, painting, batik, glasswork, gelli plate printing, and mixed media. She loves to travel, eat fantastic food, love on her animals, and spend time with her family and friends.
Sarah serves as the Creative Director of Artrageous, located in Yukon. She has previously served as Past-President of the Oklahoma Art Education Association, Board member of Oklahoma Alliance of Arts Education, and is a longtime member of the National Art Education Association.
