In this immersive two-session workshop designed for adults 18+, students will craft a personalized floral clay vase and bring it to life with the intricate art of underglaze and sgraffito carving. On Day 1, participants will shape and refine their vase using hand-building techniques. On Day 2, they’ll apply underglaze and carve unique patterns, textures, or designs, creating a stunning contrast between clay and color. This class combines creativity with craftsmanship to produce a functional and artistic piece and is perfect for beginners and experienced artists alike.
The pieces will remain on site to be kiln-fired. Finished pieces can be picked up in time for OKCMOA’s 6th annual Art in Bloom! Learn more here.
