Season’s Greetings,
This holiday season, we’re very proud to present an original retrospective of films by one of America’s greatest independent filmmakers, Richard Linklater! From his free-form Sundance breakthrough, Slacker, to the real-time romantic odysseys of the Before-trilogy to his decade-spanning coming-of-age masterpiece, Boyhood, the Austin-based writer-director has pushed the limits of film narrative, while crafting funny, philosophical and deeply affecting movies that resonate across generations and deepen over time.
This series celebrates the broad artistic scope and experimental spirit of Linklater’s remarkable career, which encompasses Oscar winners, cult classics, family-friendly comedies, and groundbreaking animated features. We’re excited to have the opportunity to screen two titles on 35mm film: visionary Philip K. Dick adaptation, A Scanner Darkly, and iconic teen comedy, Dazed and Confused.
Treat yourself and your loved ones to a drink from the Museum Cafe bar and laid-back yuletide with Céline, Jesse, Mason, Wooderson and the gang. (All right, all right, all right.)
Yours in cinema,
Museum Films
P.S. As a gift to all our favorite film lovers, we’re releasing a limited edition of 100 deeply discounted all-access passes!
