Seasons greetings,
Museum Films is very proud to present our 2021 holiday film series, (Joy to the) World of Wong Kar Wai, screening December 17-26 in the Noble Theater. This complete retrospective includes all ten of the influential Hong Kong writer-director’s theatrical features, in addition to the previously unreleased extended cut of his 2004 short film “The Hand,” originally conceived as part of the 2004 omnibus film Eros. We’re thrilled to have the opportunity to screen Ashes of Time Redux on a gorgeous 35mm print and to present new, director-supervised 4K restorations of seven features including Chungking Express and In the Mood for Love.
Bringing this extraordinary body of work together in one series gives film lovers a rare chance to immerse themselves in Wong’s immaculately scored, lushly beautiful cinematic universe, where a constellation of Hong Kong’s brightest stars play out intricate variations on themes of romantic longing, memory and heartbreak.
Yours in Cinema,
Museum Films
P.S. As special gift to all our favorite cinephiles, we’re making a limited run of specially priced all-access passes available.
