After fifteen years together, Marie (The Artist’s Bérénice Bejo) and Boris (Cédric Kahn) decide to separate. Boris’s money troubles, however, ensure that he is unable to move out of Marie’s home, leaving the pair in an increasingly uncomfortable and emotionally volatile situation as they continue to raise their two preteen daughters. Directed by Joachim Lafosse (best known for 2012’s acclaimed Our Children), After Love is an honest, moving, and brilliantly acted study of the dissolution of a love affair and its consequences for the couple and their children alike. This French Film Week standout premiered in the Directors’ Fortnight section of the 2016 Cannes International Film Festival.
