Disconnect from the hectic pace of day-to-day life and reconnect with family at OKCMOA this spring break. Whether you are visiting from out-of-town or planning a staycation, we’ve got plenty of activities designed for all ages this break.
Discovery Packs, available whenever the Museum is open. Grab a Discovery Pack to enjoy hands-on activities in the galleries with your little ones. With two packs available, Ages 2-5 and Ages 6+, Discovery Packs are the perfect way to keep kids occupied and engaged while visiting the Museum. These choose-your-own-adventure style packs allow you to pick and choose your path through the Museum. The packs are free with admission, just return them to the Admissions Desk when you leave!
Portrait Drawing Corner, available whenever the Museum is open. Sponsored by Wells Fargo, the second floor Portrait Drawing Corner is a comfy space to sit and sketch. Follow the instructions to draw a self-portrait with the mirrors provided or to sketch a friend visiting with you.
SONIC Free Family Day, March 15, 12-5 pm. FREE EVENT! Join us Sunday of spring break for a very special SONIC Free Family Day, sponsored by SONIC Drive-In. Make paper crowns in the lobby with Metro Family Magazine, visit the Downtown Library’s Pop-Up Library, take part in the design challenge in the classrooms, or catch a screening of Kids Flicks in our newly renovated theater.
Love’s Third Thursday: Murder Mystery Night, March 19, 5-9 pm. Appropriate for older children, the galleries come to life during the Museum’s annual Murder Mystery Night. Interview suspects, follow the clues, and figure out whodunnit at this special Third Thursday event. Third Thursday is sponsored by Love’s Travel Stops & Country Stores.
Drop-in Art: Sculptures, March 21, 1-4 pm. Visit our studio space and create a colorful abstract sculpture inspired by the exhibition Postwar Abstraction: Variations. This come-and-go art-making opportunity is free with admission and open to all ages. Don’t forget to share your creations with us using #okcmoa!
Make a day of it! Start the day off parking in the Arts District Parking Garage just a block away from the Museum. Visit our friends at Clarity Coffee (located on the bottom floor of the garage) to get your caffeine fix on your way to the Museum. Spring break week, we are open Wednesday-Saturday, 10 am-5 pm, Thursday 10 am-9 pm, and Sunday noon-5 pm. Admission is $12 for adults with discounts available for seniors, students, military, and children under 18. Children 5 and under are free! Add an extra adventure to your time in the Museum’s galleries with a Discovery Pack. Enjoy an intimate lunch in the recently remodeled Museum Cafe. For some afternoon fresh air, hop on the street car to visit the Myriad Botanical Gardens or Scissortail Park. Both feature excellent children’s playgrounds and are easily walkable from the Museum when the weather is nice. Head back to the parking garage with tired kids and lots of great memories.
We hope to see you in March!
