Film Series: Universal Classic Monsters
- Get in the Halloween spirit with a curated series of restored horror classics featuring some of the most iconic monsters in motion picture history. Screening throughout the last two weeks of October, this six-film series highlights influential Universal Pictures creature features from the 1930s and 1940s directed by pioneering filmmakers like Tod Browning, Karl Freund, and James Whale. Boasting richly atmospheric production design and groundbreaking special effects, these golden-age Hollywood blockbusters feature magnetic performances from Bela Lugosi (“Dracula”), Boris Karloff (“Frankenstein,” “The Mummy”), Elsa Lanchester (“The Bride of Frankenstein”), Lon Chaney Jr. (“The Wolf Man”), and Claude Rains (“The Invisible Man”).
