Film Series: Celebrating Terrence Malick
- Museum Films is proud to host a retrospective series in celebration of the great American writer-director Terrence Malick, whose first three films mark major anniversaries in 2023. Malick’s debut feature, the poetic outlaw romance “Badlands,” returns for a special 50th-anniversary screening on Thursday, November 30th, which is also the Oklahoma-bred director’s 80th birthday. Rounding out the series are Malick’s richly textured period drama “Days of Heaven,” (winner of the Best Director Prize at Cannes and the Oscar for Best Cinematography), released 45 years ago, and his philosophically resonant WWII epic “The Thin Red Line” (an 8-time Oscar nominee and winner of the Golden Bear at the Berlin Film Festival), which celebrates its 25th anniversary.
