The Oklahoma City Museum of Art is proud to offer free admission to the nation’s active-duty military personnel and their families, including National Guard and Reserve, from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day as part of the Blue Star Museums program. Blue Star Museums began on Saturday, May 25, and will end on Monday, September 2.
Blue Star Museums is a collaboration among the National Endowment for the Arts, Blue Star Families, the Department of Defense, and museums across America. This summer, we encourage military families and all Americans to explore the museum’s exhibitions and events! Blue Star Families even created this handy toolkit to enhance your museum visit.
This program gives free admission to the military ID holder and up to five family members per visit. The military ID holder can be either active duty service member or other dependent family member with the appropriate ID card. The active duty member does not have to be present for family members to use the program. It is available for those currently serving in the United States Military – Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, Coast Guard as well as Active Duty and Reservists, National Guardsman (regardless of status), U.S. Public Health Commissioned Corps, NOAA Commissioned Corps. Qualified members must show their Geneva Convention common access card (CAC), DD Form 1173 ID card (dependent ID), or a DD Form 1173-1 ID card for free entrance at the museum.
More than 2,000 museums across America participate in Blue Star Museums each summer. A full list can be found at arts.gov/bluestarmuseums.
