An Academy Award® nominee for Best Animated Feature and Best Original Score, Wes Anderson’s latest stop-motion marvel is a breathtakingly detailed explosion of mid-century atomic kitsch and an unexpectedly heartwarming ode the language-transcending bond between humans and their dogs. Isle of Dogs tells the story of Atari Kobayashi, 12-year-old ward to corrupt Mayor Kobayashi. When cat-loving Kobyashi issues an Executive Decree that exiles all Megasaki City’s canine pets to a vast garbage-dump called Trash Island, stalwart Atari sets off alone in in his Junior-Turbo Prop aircraft in search of his bodyguard-dog Spots. There, with the assistance of his new mongrel friends, the little pilot begins an epic journey that will decide the fate and future of the entire Prefecture. Featuring charismatic vocal performances from Edward Norton, Frances McDormand, Jeff Goldblum, Scarlett Johansson and Tilda Swinton, Isle of Dogs is the most inventive animated film of 2018.
