An intimate look at the man behind the restaurant, Noma, My Perfect Storm offers unprecedented access to the fevered inner-workings of Noma’s kitchens and Chef René Redzepi’s mind. Opened in 2003 in Copenhagen, Denmark, Noma combines modern cooking techniques with a rigorous focus on fine-grained seasonality and the unique flora and fauna of the region. Over the past decade, Redzepi’s wholesale reinvention of Nordic cuisine has earned his restaurant two-Michelin stars and the title of “World’s Best Restaurant,” three-years in a row. A documentarian with a background in classical French cooking, Deschamps keeps his camera close to the ebullient, casually profane Redzepi, who supplies refreshingly personal, stream-of-conscious narration while navigating a tumultuous period marked by triumphant successes and devastating setbacks. Exquisite food and landscape photography plus candid interviews with a charming international cast of sous chefs, farmers, and foragers, round out this revealing portrait of the artist as a young chef.
The Museum Cafe will be offering a special prix fixe dinner menu in coordination with this film. Click here for the menu and reservation details.
