With each facing hard time and dreaming of freedom, the cellmates plot their escape—an endeavor that will be further complicated by the arrival of a fifth prisoner, Claude Gaspard (Lola’s Marc Michel). Based on actual events, the details of the prison break are rendered in painstaking detail in this extraordinarily gripping thriller from the former Jean Renoir protégé.
