In commemoration of Bastille Day, Museum Films is proud to present a month-long showcase of the best of classical and contemporary French cinema!
This year’s program features an original retrospective of newly restored masterworks by French New Wave filmmaker, Jacques Demy, and a hand-curated festival of new French films.
Demy x 4
Screening each Thursday in July at 7:30
Born in the picturesque port city of Nantes, France — which serves as the setting for both Lola and Un chambre en ville — Demy is most well-known for his visually striking, exquisitely romantic homages to the classical Hollywood musical starring celebrated French actresses like Anouk Aimée and Catherine Deneuve.
