As temperatures finally cool and the length of days shortens, we find ourselves looking for fun things to do that keep us from hibernating completely. Though spring tends to get the “fresh start” energy, fall too can be a great time to try new things and start new traditions. Here are some of the exciting things you can do at OKCMOA in the coming weeks:
November’s calendar is jam-packed with art classes for kids, teens, and adults! Learn a new skill, create something cool, and share it with someone you love. Upcoming classes include Ceramic Hand Building for Teens, Acrylic Paint Pour for Adults, Clay Play Day for kids 8-12, and Pinch Pot Planters for Adults.
Join Museum educator Tori Waldron for snacks, sips, and a discussion of the novel The Art Forger by B.A. Shapiro at the Museum Book Club’s quarterly meeting on November 14 in the Museum Store.
Did you know that OKCMOA has its own theater and screens films every week? Don’t miss your chance to see Psycho, the Hitchcock classic, and All That Heaven Allows, starring Rock Hudson and Jane Wyman. Psycho screens Saturday, November 2; All That Heaven Allows screens Saturday, November 30.
Tip: grab a drink from the Museum Store Bar to enjoy while you watch!
Thanks to the generous support of the Art Bridges Foundation’s Access for All program, visitors can experience the Museum for free on the second Sunday of every month. The next Access for All day is November 10! Tickets will be available to reserve starting Sunday, November 3.
Works by Picasso and Rodin are currently on view in the Museum’s second-floor galleries. Hear from Dr. Michael J. Anderson, President and CEO of OKCMOA, as he talks about the two revolutionary artists in Rodin, Picasso, Time and the Art of Unrest. Tickets are $5 for members and $15 for non-members.
On Monday, December 2, the Museum Store will open exclusively to members for our annual Members’ Sale. Get cozy after work with a hot drink or glass of wine, treats, and holiday shopping in the merriest museum store around.
Not a member yet? Join for as low as $60/year.
Have someone on your holiday list who would love a membership to OKCMOA? Gift them one and call your holiday shopping complete! An OKCMOA gift membership is all about experience: new exhibitions, exclusive events, discounts, and more! Plus, did you know that when you purchase a gift membership, the recipient receives a physical card in the mail? We think it’s a nice touch.
