Become a costume designer just like Edith Head, who is honored in OKCMOA’s latest special exhibition Edith Head: Hollywood’s Costume Designer! Design and create a beautiful one-of-a-kind scarf! In addition to drawing and transferring a design onto a silk scarf, participants will learn step-by-step instructions on blending and applying colors to the scarf and creating tonal depth using specialty silk paint. This workshop is suitable for beginners, and all supplies and gallery admission are included with registration.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR
Sarah Carnes, M.Ed. is a local artist educator. She has taught PK-12th in the OKC metro area for over 30 years. She has presented numerous hands-on workshops across Oklahoma and nationally, including Balinese silk scarf, Zentangle, jewelry design, watercolor, ceramics, glassworks, printmaking, mixed media, and many more.
Her favorite creative experiences include photography, painting, batik, glasswork, gelli plate printing, and mixed media. She loves to travel, eat fantastic food, love on her animals, and spend time with her family and friends.
Sarah serves as the Creative Director of Artrageous, located in Yukon. She has previously served as Past-President of the Oklahoma Art Education Association, is a Board member of the Oklahoma Alliance of Arts Education, and is a longtime member of the National Art Education Association.
