Matinees will screen throughout 14-week summer exhibition
OKLAHOMA CITY (May 9, 2024) – The Oklahoma City Museum of Art (OKCMOA) announced today the full lineup of films in its Edith Head film series, presented by Chuck Wiggin, which will accompany the summer exhibition Edith Head: Hollywood’s Costume Designer over 14 weeks. The exhibition, organized by OKCMOA and presented by The Ann Lacy Foundation, opens June 22 and will showcase the career of Oscar®-winner Edith Head (1897-1981), who designed costumes for hundreds of films during Hollywood’s Golden Age and won eight Academy Awards over the span of her career, more than any other woman to date.
“We’re excited to offer such a robust film schedule for this exhibition, and it’s a great opportunity to see these classics on the big screen,” said Lisa Broad, PhD, head of film programming and theatrical operations. “The series highlights Edith Head’s work with director Alfred Hitchcock and actress Audrey Hepburn, and also includes several films that correspond to costumes and sketches that will be on view in the galleries.”
