OKLAHOMA CITY (October 31, 2023) – The Oklahoma City Museum of Art (OKCMOA) Store today announced that it now has a curated collection in Palm Springs, California. The collection is located inside the Trevor Wayne Store and features works by Oklahoma artists, a curated selection of books related to the Museum’s permanent collection, and other merchandise, including branded OKCMOA Store Palm Springs items.
For six years, the Museum Store has successfully partnered with artist Trevor Wayne, whose pop culture-inspired works are a popular feature in the Store. Thanks to Wayne’s recent move to a larger store space in the design district of uptown Palm Springs, the opportunity for the OKCMOA Store to have a California presence was formed.
“Having the chance to take our partnership with Trevor to the next level is exciting. We are also honored to display our merchandise among other talented artists and high-profile museum pop-ups like MoMA [The Museum of Modern Art],” said Richard Bruner, manager of the OKCMOA Store.
The Oklahoma artists highlighted in the collection, who further strengthen the relationship between the two locations, are Clint Stone, William Struby and Robin Marsh. Each artist has created works specifically for this location based on Palm Springs’ architecture and style.
Additionally, the Museum Store recently expanded its footprint and opened a fine arts gallery next to its current store space. Visitors, by appointment, can view and purchase works by artists such as Dale Chihuly, Preston Singletary, whose exhibition Raven and the Box of Daylight opens November 11, and others.
