Message from the President

Welcome!

All of us at the Oklahoma City Museum of Art are committed to enriching lives through the visual arts and to creating a cultural legacy in art and education that future generations will experience at the Museum and carry with them throughout their lives. I encourage you to visit the Museum and participate in programming excellence year-round.

Through April 11, see the first exhibition of our NEW FRONTIERS: Series for Contemporary Art, Anti.Gravity.Material.Light. This exhibition presents five large-scale installations by contemporary sculptor Jason Peters. Completed on site over a period of three weeks, the installations use objects, such as buckets and chairs, to create something extraordinary from everyday items. The exhibit is a new adventure for many at the Museum, and I am very excited about it.

The Dorothy and Herbert Vogel Collection, a beautiful collection of contemporary art is on view, displaying 50 works recently gifted to the OKCMOA through a visionary initiative between Herb and Dorothy Vogel and the National Gallery of Art. You will be intrigued, challenged, delighted, and ultimately inspired by the amazing story of Herb and Dorothy Vogel.

Plan your visit and come for dinner and a movie, or join us on the last Thursday of each month for late nights at the Museum $5 After 5 p.m. with music and special tours. Be sure to visit several of our newly reinstalled galleries on the second floor, which include the recent acquisition of two paintings by the late-seventeenth-century Italian painter Ippolito Caffi. The paintings are extraordinary and the new look in the galleries is fantastic.

I look forward to seeing you again soon.
