Children's Classes
AGES 6-9
These classes have been designed to foster your child’s independent learning and social interaction with other children; children should feel comfortable working without a parent or guardian present. Children must meet the minimum age requirements for each class to participate.
LANDSCAPE PAINTING

Study paintings in the galleries to learn a variety of techniques for representing landscapes and nature stylistically and expressively with an emphasis placed on light, color, and atmosphere. Next, learn how to design and paint a landscape. Emphasis will be placed on primary and secondary colors as well as how to plan a landscape just like a professional artist.
STILL-LIFE DRAWING

Bring fun items from home to add to our class still life! We’ll visit the galleries to view examples of still-life paintings and then return to the classroom to set up a group still life. Next, learn about basic drawing techniques, including mark making, form, and shading, and create a still-life drawing to take home.
